In 2000 the team behind Seneca Productions made a ground-breaking
series of six half-hour films on the history and uses of
philosophy.
The films were widely applauded for bringing philosophy to
the TV screen in a lively, accessible and yet profound way.
For perhaps the first time in the history of broadcasting,
prime-time programmes were devoted to the ideas of Arthur
Schopenhauer, Michel de Montaigne and Friedrich Nietzsche.
The films have been shown to large audiences on a record
number
of TV stations in many countries including the UK, Spain,
Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, the European
Discovery
network, Australia, Hong Kong, Iceland, New Zealand and Brazil.
