In 2005, Seneca Productions finished
an hour-long documentary about going on holiday, based
on Alain de Botton’s
bestselling book, The
Art of Travel. The film is a witty,
thought-provoking examination of why we travel and of what
can go wrong when we do so. As the point of going travelling
is usually to be happy, when things don’t go as we
planned, we tend to end up doubly unhappy: not just unhappy,
but unhappy that we’re unhappy.
