Grayson Perry wants to find out whether we are getting the most, both as individuals and as a society, from our spare time. George Orwell celebrated the British for being ‘a nation of flower-lovers, stamp-collectors, pigeon-fanciers, coupon-snippers, darts-players, crossword-puzzle fans’.
Our leisure habits have changed since then, but are we finding our leisure more rewarding as a result? Presented by the Turner Prize-winning artist Grayson Perry, this documentary explores the contemporary landscape of leisure, and makes some suggestions about how to get the most out of the time we call our own.
